People Moves: Sir John Armitt joins £1bn Marlow Studios project - Property Week

Media Release -- Construction heavyweight Sir John Armitt has been appointed as Chair of the £1bn Marlow Studios project, with Max James also joining as Chief Executive, according to sources at Property Week.

As former chair of the Olympic Delivery Authority for the 2012 London Games and chief executive of Network Rail, Armitt has decades of experience delivering and managing large projects. He was also Chairman of the National Infrastructure Commission from 2018 to 2025 until the body was merged into the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority.

He has also been non-executive director at Berkeley Group and chief executive at Costain Group. Armitt is also chair of the private-sector-led Public Private Partnership Commission, which recently reported on the financing of the UK's infrastructure.
