People Moves: QIC names three new appointments for specialist Infrastructure team

16/02/2023

By Elizabeth Fry - QIC continues to bolster its specialist infrastructure team with the appointment of two assistant portfolio managers and a head of research & analytics.

First-up, senior JANA consultant Anne Kuleshova has joined the Queensland government investment manager as an assistant portfolio manager. Kuleshova - who is a co-founder of Women in Investment - worked at JANA for nine years.

Before joining the asset consultant, she worked at Deloitte's corporate finance department for three years. Kuleshova began her career at Macquarie Group in 2007.

In a social media post, she said she was feeling energised by the new challenge.

Speaking of her time at JANA Investment Advisers, she said she was grateful to have spent the best part of her 30s working in an organisation with a strong sense of purpose and a moral compass.

"It's been an absolute pleasure having clients who treat me as "one team, one dream" rather than just another service provider," she said.

"It feels sad to say goodbye to the many people who've been in my corner through life's ups and downs and who also laugh at my lame puns. I will miss all the shenanigans, and I hope to take these friendships with me as I start my new chapter!"

Kuleshova is joined by Elizabeth Sabino-Rice who will work in QIC's New York office. Sabino-Rice landed from RBC Capital Markets. Meanwhile, Jaimala Patel has been recruited as principal and head of research & analytics.

Patel joins from QBE Insurance where she ran real assets for the group investment. Global head of QIC Infrastructure, Ross Israel, warmly welcomed Jaimala, and Elizabeth and Anneto the team.

"Today, our team manages over $29 billion of unlisted infrastructure investments, 23 direct assets across six countries employing 89 team members," he said.
