London, ENGLAND (UK Bureau Report) -- The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is inviting ESG rating providers to participate in a voluntary reporting pilot designed to improve transparency, consistency, and trust in ESG assessments. Through this initiative, participating firms will share information on their methodologies, data sources, governance, and controls in a structured, comparable format. The pilot aims to identify good practices, highlight potential gaps, and support the development of a more robust and reliable ESG ratings ecosystem that better serves investors, issuers, and the wider market.

By joining the pilot, ESG rating providers can help shape emerging supervisory expectations, demonstrate their commitment to high standards, and contribute to a more coherent regulatory framework. The FCA intends to use insights from the pilot to inform future policy thinking and potential guidance, while keeping the process collaborative and proportionate. Providers of all sizes and business models are encouraged to express interest, with the FCA particularly keen to ensure a diverse range of methodologies and asset class coverage are represented.
