People Moves: Charles French joins Impax from Newton IM as Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Listed Equities
Press Release - Impax Asset Management ("Impax"), the specialist asset manager investing in the transition to a more sustainable economy, has as of yesterday announced the appointment of Charles (Charlie) French as Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Listed Equities.
Charlie who will be based in London joins Impax from Newton Investment Management, where he has built a career as an analyst and portfolio manager and held the positions of Head of Multi-Asset, Head of Investment/Deputy CIO, and most recently, Head of Equity Opportunities, leading a team of global equity portfolio managers responsible for US$45bn in AUM.
At Impax, Charlie will work alongside fellow Deputy CIO, Listed Equities, Hubert Aarts to support Bruce Jenkyn-Jones, Chief Investment Officer, Listed Equities. Together they are tasked with leading and growing the Listed Equities team, including research, idea generation, portfolio management, ESG integration, and trading. Charlie will also focus on the strategic direction of the team and will support Bruce with his Senior Manager responsibilities under the FCA's Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) rules.

The appointment is effective as of 21st June 2022. Charlie's hire follows the recent appointment of Paul Voûte to Head of Distribution, Europe & Asia-Pacific, the hire of Ed Farrington as Head of Distribution, North America, and Meg Brown's appointment to Chief Product and Marketing Officer.
