People Moves: The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero announces 2 new Non-Executive Board members

London (UK Bureau) -- The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero recently announced the appointment of Ravi Gurumurthy and Sue Ferns, as Non-Executive Board Members, effective May 1, 2025. Their extensive experience and leadership in their respective fields will undoubtedly bring fresh perspectives.

Ravi Gurumurthy serves as the Chief Executive of Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation dedicated to designing, testing, and scaling solutions to some of society's most pressing challenges, including sustainability and health. Under his leadership, Nesta has been at the forefront of developing innovative strategies that address critical issues globally.

Sue Ferns serves as the Senior Deputy General Secretary at Prospect, overseeing the union's initiatives within the energy, science, climate, and environment sectors. Her leadership in these areas emphasizes the importance of sustainable practices and policies that benefit both workers and the planet.

In addition to her role at Prospect, Sue is a prominent member of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Executive Committee. Here, she leads discussions on the General Council focused on critical issues surrounding energy, environmental challenges, and sustainability efforts. Her insights and expertise are invaluable in shaping policies that promote a greener future.

Furthermore, Sue represents TUC on the Net Zero Council, a collaborative initiative between government, business, and civil society aimed at achieving the goal of becoming a clean energy superpower. Through her efforts, Sue makes significant contributions to advancing the discourse on net-zero targets and fostering partnerships essential for a sustainable economy.
